Default polespearos

im gonna be in the orange beach area 17/24 of june. i used to work on the coast a few years ago, just played around in the water in my spare time. i watched some teens try to do some polespearing while i was swipping conch shells behind the sea wall @ perdido pass. got my hands on a jbl travel pole and hope to do some shore dives @ the pass, and maybe the whiskey. give me a shout if anyone would like to meet up im gonna be staying just a few miles from the pass. an old friend of mine that lives in pcola is meetn up w/ me the middle of that week if anyone would like to join. ive got another buddy that lives in orange beach but not sure if he has a boat. i hear the tanks are pretty good to dive. im not gonna try do deep im guessn that anything over 50' would be past my comfort zone.

IDK, if you'll find any tanks under 50'?
I want to dive some tanks also, I think it would be awesome even though they make a small reef.

There are army tanks on this list but they are deeper than 50':

buffalo barge#1 54' and kelley pipes/lillian bridge#1 60' both are on the loran c al reef locations. sorry im gonna get around to figuring out how to add attachments. the way i see it is that if the bottom is 60' the fish will sometimes be hovering around 45/50. so far i havent seen fish school up and sit right on the bottom.

I spearfish the jetties all the time, send me a PM or swing by the shop when you get in town. There's good numbers of mangrove snapper on them right now.

Here are some close in pyrs. 70' deep Straight south of OBA. Not aware of any tanks close in. Look on outdoor alabama website for a reeflist.

You can always chum mangroves up to a more shallow depth at the tanks.

Got a question. Does that chumming often or seldom or never attract sharks?

Good luck and stay safe down there.
