I'll be bringing my boat over from Destin tomorrow and trying to find some spots to freedive spearfish. Not looking for anything super deep, maybe 70 ft +-.

I'm not really familiar with Pensacola's spots. Just wanting to shoot a couple fish, not looking for trophies just dinner lol.

If anyone has any decent spots that aren't a horrible run and not super deep, I'd be greatly appreciative. Again, not looking for anyone's private spots. Just something that is a decent public one and not super deep. I'd take bay spots or gulf. I'm not sure what the vis is in the bay here?

Thanks for the heads up.

The water is clear. You should have a good experience. Go to mbt dive site and look to see what public wrecks and reefs are in your desired distance and depth and choose from there.

I don't think it shows distance, but just use depth. The farther you go the deeper it will get.

Thanks again!! Anyone know of any shore accessible dives in Alabama that may be worth a trip without the boat?

I hear you can spear the jetties over there?

you can spear the jetties in AL, pretty sure you need a spearfishing license tho in AL. Be careful of those MBT numbers, a lot of people have found them to be inaccurate. I don't use this site anymore but looks like they have a few numbers off pensacola to use, they were always pretty good numbers http://fishingdestinguide.com/gpsSTATEWATERSWEST.html
