Default Pensacola spear fishing

Question for the locals. What's the P'cola spear fishing scene like? Specifically is most of it hard bottom, wrecks or artificial reefs( pyramids, coops rubble etc)? How far out and what depths are typical?

I may be moving here from Panama City beach and want to know what to expect. On my end the "good" spearing is mostly hard bottom natural reefs and coops or other structure if you can find it. We live boat teams of two and bounce dive(kinda).

I understand the normal dynamics of finding a good crew to dive with. Also, what should I expect in terms of charter spear fishing Ops? Do they go to hard bottom or other sites? And any suggestions on snapper spear fishing (charter) this weekend?

Thanks in advance for the guidance.

It runs the gamut of everything you mention over here. Depths range from 50' to what you deem your safe limit.

For charters, Due South does spearo charters. There are others as well. Call MBT Divers and they can point you toward others.

Think they are too busy dodging sharks to actually spearfish. But hey, what do I know, I kayak?

Yep, it's about the same here as there. There's some good natural bottom, some decent wrecks, and lots of coops/pyramids.
