Default Ordnance/code # for 100 yard rule?

I was down in Fort Walton last week and as I was entering the water to look for sting rays (for shark bait) the beach safety patrol pulled up and called me out. they said i couldn't spear fish within 1500 meters of the shoreline in all of Florida. I was told before that i was fine as long as i was 100 yards off any designated swim beach (which are the marked areas with bouys) by the Destin beach patrol and the operator of the dive shop i bought my spear from.

Not knowing for sure I didn't argue with them and quietly let them leave. I looked it up and sure enough, its 100 yards from any designated swim beach But I can't find anything Official to reference for the next time they try to pull me out.

Ft Pickens may be different though since they are federal. They have been trying to crack down on the floundering for a couple years now.
