Default Orange\Perdido Beach End of July

Hello from Texas. I am a freediver with two novices.

Coming to Orange Beach\Perdido Beach end of July into first part of August. I already have the licenses for both AL & FL. Towing my Sea Ox 180D. Put in the #'s from AL's R.V. Minton East & West and some others. I know about the Whiskey Wreck and Perdido Pass. Got the dive flags ready (boat & floats) and a bullhorn for the overwatch.

I'm not looking for anybody's secret spots. Just would like some advice on shore diving or anything available in 30-40 fsw. Have my new Liquid Image mask and want to take some vid and a few fish for dinners while visiting. Advice on viz that time of year (generally) and any warnings.

Default So much thanks for all the info.!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the info I got here. If yall ever come to Texas hunting or to our coast I'd make sure to reciprocate with the same quality information. Thanks Billybob, you were the only one to reach out.

It' a danged shame man...used to be this forum was helpful. wish I could've offered you more...

by the way...those spots in close...50 ft range I gave you...they're holding some good fish but vis is close to ZERO and current was ripping. I'm afraid if it doesn't let up, you're gonna find some serious tough times holding over a small spot like that to freedive.

anyway, call me when you're in town and if you wanna go offshore scuba, I'd be glad to take ya.

Look up the lulu.
It's a bit of a ride in 100 foot of water. Offshore dive park from what I hear.
The Allen ship is 9 miles.
3 mile barge (3 miles from perdido pass bridge

Default I'm gonna take you up on that!

Well...Billybob+ that's a right nice offer. I will call you while there and we can use my boat or yours.

Chapman: Thanks for the info. I'll look'em up I appreciate your info.

BananaTom: I am sorry you didn't notice the second paragraph just asking for local guidance. My second reply was intended as sarcasm for a forum that had nearly 200 looks at my request and not a single reply. Billybob+ had offered advice from another forum, and suggested asking here. I did and was sorely disappointed. But in all reality, you get what you pay for.

If you turn left out of perdido pass and go Into florida waters, I am a firm believer that there is better fishing and clearer water out of pensacola pass.
Plus there is tons of stuff to dive within 10 miles of pensacola pass.
But most fisherman don't like to share their spot with divers and vice versa.
There are ways to download it for free, but I never figured it out. In foley , alabama, there is a store called blue water ship store. Call there and ask for scott, or leave a message and he will call you back. He will load up your GPS/fish finder with every public coordinate from pensacola pass to dolphin island for $50
You either bring your boat or just the fish finder/ GPS with a power cord. I bought an extra power cord just for that.
