Default Epa

So this has probably been asked before but I can't find any intel on it.

The water around the EPA island on Pensacola Beach, is this water under EPA jurisdiction? I have looked over the waterway charts and it doesn't specify. I can really find an answer anywhere on the web. I know what the FWC regulations are but they still do not answer the question.

Anyone have an answer? If not I suppose I will have to call them Monday.

Thanks

Nobody knows? Has anyone spear fished around the island? I fish it all the time and snorkel on the jetties with my kiddos. Just wondering if I could bring a pole spear with me incase I happen to see a sheepshead or something.

I remember several years back hearing about a fella that would come down and threaten to call the cops about people fishing there. Evidently it's okay because if memory serves correctly, FWC won't do anything about it. Seems like the old boy was just trying to preserve his honey hole there. Someone on here can surely verify or debunk what i'm saying.

Yeah I've herd about that fellow before. I've been fishing there hundreds of times, I live about 500yds from the epa. Me personally I have never had anyone say anything to me except ask if I was catching anything. Thanks H2O. I can't seem to find anything online or on epa's site that says I can't so........

I used to dive it all the time with my son. Sometimes the security guards would try to run us off, but I just ignored them. Nothing they could do.
