5-18-14 late report
It's a bit late, but better late than never, right?
Dove the I-10 bridge rubble and shot six lionfish and picked up my first shovelnose. Vis was about twenty feet or so on the bottom and the water temp was probably seventy or so. Everything went fine until we came up a half mile away from the boat, but luckily the current hadn't picked up yet. Lost our five pound lead for the buoy and mom lost her reel, so we came out negative I guess. Second dive (same spot) the current had picked up and we had no way of making sure we got back to the anchor line, so we just hung out on the anchor line and enjoyed the water. Nice first trip of the season, but I'm nowhere near wet enough yet.
Biggest two lionfish were 1.29 and 1.18 pounds.
I have the video if I can ever figure out how to put it on here.
Do I just have to do it through YouTube or Vimeo?
