Default 2019 Dream Weaver Bud Light report

Another year, another beating...

We fished hard all weekend in 2-3 footers. Saturday we ran to the edge. King fishing was good. You didn't have to wait long for a strike but none of them were big. All the kings were in the teens to low 20s (pounds). We caught fish mostly all day. Some snapper up to 15 pounds, multiple amber jacks over 40lbs, 1 almaco jack, some mingos, a scamp or two, a couple of sharks, etc. Basically we kept busy catching fish.

Our best chance of winning fish on Saturday was a mingo that went 3.13lbs at the scales. Our lady angler caught it in the afternoon after spending the morning throwing up (first time ever getting sea sick and has been out in rougher). It was the day 1 leader in that category but didn't stay on the board after day 2.

Day 2 we made some crew adjustments and headed right back out to the edge, but this time with a junior angler. The plan was to get him into his first ever king bite and maybe win the bonus for his age group. He did manage to catch one king that was 18lbs at the scales. He caught it himself so that was good but he got bumped to second later in the day by a 22 pound fish.

Kings weren't biting after that so we bounced around looking for a grouper dinner and maybe one to weigh. We didn't get anything to weigh in the grouper division but we got dinner!

After that we headed in and east to snapper fish. Our biggest snapper was 21lbs and didn't make the board.

While fishing that area, we were monitoring the radio and tracking 2 dive related incidents. We kept a look out for the lost diver that was adrift because we were in the general area but we never saw him. Thankfully someone else found him. The other situation we couldn't do anything for and no one else could either, RIP.

So another year in the books. We got 2nd place junior king and everything else we had was bumped off the board. I guess we'll have to settle for ~40 pounds of snapper and grouper fillets
