Default CA/CO fishing/scouting trip

Well to begin this post right, first I must give you a quick background on me. I'm AD mil been down here in NW last 8 yrs originally from CA. Love to fish and hunt, had a bunch of leave to burn from return deployment. Decided to head back home to N. CA in which I caught numerous rainbow trout day after day. Mostly using power bait with a few on spinning baits. Jumped state lines and flew into Denver CO. Checked out the hunting and fishing there (next assignment) hopefully. Went up into the mountains found lots of elk sign (beds, highways, droppings, aspen bark chew marks) fished a few mountain lakes/streams after a 2+ mile walk in and caught cutthroat, rainbow and brook trout. Had a absolute blast!! I think I found the pearly gates for the hunting and fishing. All in all after 20 days of be bopping around the US I finally had to face reality and come into work today (Monday). Can't wait to retire let me tell you!

That's some pretty country up there. And nice mess of trout too! One day I'm gonna head up that way to elk hunt. Few other things ahead of it on the ole bucket list though.

Pretty country up there. I loved fishing NorCal, although it was offshore fishing.
