Default Choctawhatchee River conditions

The Choctaw is in perfect condition right now. Been waiting on this for months. Strange...driving in to Comander's Landing the yellow flies were swarming along side the truck. Was driving slow due to washboard road. Got to the landing and there were no flies???? Figure that one out...

Headed straight to a lake back in the swamp I haven't fished in over a year but could not get in due to low water. Coming out got caught up in old tree top in swift water and motor killed chopping wood. Motor would not start. Appeared like another time when had water in fuel. Went through the gas line removal on motor, purge the line, etc., but motor still would not start. Hmmmm..since both of us did't have our cell phones we were stuck in a hard place.

Nothing to do except wait for a good samaritan to come along and one did in about 15 minutes. He towed us back to the landing but in the process both boats got sideways in the current and were slammed up into an old tree in middle of river.. That created a mess but we finally got the boats untangled and headed in the right direction upriver.

Motor repair shop discovered the male gas plug on the motor had something inside stopping the gas flow. Never heard of this part going bad, but obviously it does.

So I'm beached for a while!

The river is finally "just right" and now you're beached. Sounds like my luck. On the plus side; temps flirting with triple digits for the next few days up here in Montgomery.

Glad things worked out for you.

Yep, with the heat this weekend about the only thing I plan to do is an outdoor Memorial Day ceremony and do a little garage cleaning and tackle inventory.
Bodupp and Yellow River Cat like this.
