Any good ponds at all?
I'm relatively new to the area... one of the check marks on my catch list is a 12in panfish (bluegill). But being in college in Pensacola I can't seem to locate any good lakes or ponds in the area that'd give me a half-decent chance at that... any help would be greatly appreciated!

20 years ago, I would have had a half a dozen I could have sent you to, but now everything is locked up tight, private property. My best advice is to drive around and when you see a pond that looks good, knock on a door and ask permission, use good manners, yes ma'am and no sir them, and be prepared to offer to swap some yard work or something for fishing rights. And don't be too let down when a lot of them say no, lots of scumbags out there that abuse privileges and folks get tired of being burned. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Brooks Hines has some 1.5-2lb gills. Best chance around here other than Merritt Mill
