Default Any Advice?

Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum and glad to be here. I am originally from the Lake Eufaula area but recently moved here to Pace and I am looking for a good place to catch bream when k get ready for a mess of fish. I've got a 22' pontoon boat and I've been scouting some of the local ramps for a good spot to try. I've decided that Swamphouse looks like a good place to start. Does that area of Escambia normally hold fair numbers of bluegills & shellcracker? Should I spend my time around the grass and reeds in the mouth of the river or venture upriver a ways? Any advice would be helpful and greatly appreciated. If any of you folks need info about Eufaula, I'd be glad to provide. Thanks in advance.

I have never fished escambia, atleast enough to know anywhere. I have caught a many on Blackwater. Carpenters park is a good ramp out of the wind for a big toon to unload and load. From there you can get up yellow river a little ways, and caught good messes there too. Welcome to town, I am in Pace as well.

Thanks brother! I have wanted to give yellow river a shot because I have heard good things. I just wasn't sure how far up river I could get on a 'toon. I try to stay away from Blackwater on weekends...too many inexperienced boaters for my taste. I usually have kids with me so I try to be extra cautious.
