Default Venice Reports

Where are the fish showing up down there. We'll be headed that way early next week and looking for some tips. I'm not asking for anyone to give up there honey hole but just looking for some crumbs on the trail.

Ditto.

Will try to head out Saturday if the weather permits. Was also looking for some recommendations on were to head. The Lump?, Amberjack? Moxie?...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alan

So I take it that the Lump is dead? I haven't seen any reports raving about that area like I have in thepast few years.

Do they have a gas station out there at Green Canyon?okeoke

Last reports I have heard/read show a lot of folks heading ESE out of Venice. I would not mess with the Lump given thewater currentsituations. Grab a ROFFS or similar service to see the day before to plan out. Fish are always at the deep floaters so unless you have intel otherwise, I would find the best water possible at the deep floaters. Maybe hit 93 block or other shelf rigs on the way out for wahoo, but wahoo seem to be best on the shelf from Dec-Feb.

There is a second Lump that comes up around the horseshoe rigs, we drifted and chunked i think the water depth is about 250 and falls to 400.......Kings on top of the lump and Tuna on the drop off, we caught 8 biggest was 165, about 2 weeks ago

thanks guys, we figured the Lumps were dry but we got 3 days to find the fish. The wahoo are still around from what I hear and read. Hopefully the wind will lay down and the freezer will have some fish in it.
