Default Spur to elbow

Fished Saturday. Lots of flyers near the 131 hole, so stopped and dragged lines for a bit, nothing. Picked up and ran to the Spur in hopes of better water. Joined 5 other boats out there. several schools of small flyers and finally picked up one small dolphin...but that was it. headed back towards the elbow and then north. nothing.

water was clean and green all the way out. Scattered flying fish. No weeds or rips.

basically a nice boat ride. At least the company was good, the beer was cold and the boat ran well...maybe this fall we will get some good water!!!

Thanks for the report. I was wondering what it was like in that area. Heading out for the Labor Day outboard shootout this coming weekend.

We probably seen each other, we did exactly the same thing and caught the same fish. Missed on 3 other knock downs. 12 miles from the pass coming in my starboard engine died, did not sound good so haven't tried to restart. Gotta find a good local mercury guy now.

We will be out there this weekend as well. Did you get south of the spur? According to Rip Charts the altimetry, current and water look interesting down that way say 10-15 miles S. We may just set out the high speed lines and see if any wahoo are on the edge unless water really improves magically this week!

didn't go south of the Spur. Earlier Hiltons showed a mix of blue between the spur and the 131, so I stayed in that area hoping to find some of it. Guess it moved back south before I got out there.

good luck and let us know how you do!
