Default Spur Area

Coming up from Ocala to fish the Spur area this weekend. Wondering if there is any blue water at or around the spur now? We usually come up a couple times each summer but this will be our first time making it up this year. I haven't seen many reports lately so I don't know if that means the fishing hasn't been good or people just haven't been posting. I'm guilty of reading the forum regularly but not posting. Has anyone had any luck with the swords at night around the spur lately? We leave out of Mexico Beach so we usually put lines in at the squiggles and troll towards the spur then set up to drift for swords at night. I hope the water isn't dirty green with lillys from the river floating around like we had it one year. Being from Ocala we fish the east coast around the Daytona area a lot but it usually doesn't compare to the panhandle area fishing. Any info on the water conditions would be much appreciated.

Honestly, save your money and gas. Not worth it right now.

Conditions as of yesterday- Dirty water, 88 degrees, and zero life. Heard on radio today 4 destin boats overnighted night before last for swords and zero bites between all of them.
skiff man99 and RMS like this.

Agreed with peeps. But if you feel the need then check that area out south of Madison Swanson might produce a little more for you.

east is definitely better than west, unless you want to run a counrty mile to that epic line....should be wahoos on those breaks by Madison Swanson, Alaska, etc.
