Default Rigging question: Mullet

I am fishing the MBGFC tourament this weekend. I haven't fished blue water in a long time and my crewmates do not use mullet regularly. I want to rig a few dozen but I need to know what is tourney compliant and what is not. I know that natural bait has to be on circle hooks only and I understand the rules on leader length but I am unsure about hook placement and such. Any help is appreciated.

The only real issue regarding dead or live bait is the circle hook rule, which simply states you have to use a non offset circle hook for live or dead bait. How you rig the bait is entirely up to you, trick is to rig it in such a way as to not obstruct the hooks ability to pivot and catch on the corner of the mouth. This usually means putting the hook out front of the bait or on the nose of the bait. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I catch my own mullet and spanish to troll with and can always make them swim, I just wasn't sure about the tourney rules but it looks like as long as the hook is not more than 1.5 x hook length from the bait then I am GTG.
