Default Nov.22/23 rig trip

I had origanaly scheduled to leave out fri night for a rig trip, but we all know what the weather was like.Decided we would give it a try on sat. Finally ended up leaving the passafter getting a charge of bait around noon.Headed straight to the Ram Powell area.Wasnt to bad at first maybe 3-4s following seas, very do able.Arrived at the ram powell after dark.Started chunking and taking turns throwing diamond jigs. After 2 hours ond only 1 bite later decided we would makea move to the marlin rig.Man was it on,pulled up on the west side my brother made his first cast with thediamond jig,Fish ON.Every came out of the cabin and it was a feeding frenzy. They were having a blast with thoses black fins on spinning tackle, drags screeming, people cussing, lines being crossed,it didnt matter what the seas were doing then. After letting them play with the black fins for a while I suggested they start the chunking process, more black fins.Ended up taking a couple of the smaller ones and cutting strips out of them and sending them down deep with a long leader.Had 4 good bites this way with 1 taking us into the rig and breaking off.Ended up with 2 yfts biggest being around 60lbs or better the other 30-40lbs,and 43 bfts,no giants but a mess of fish, and a good time despite less than perfect conditions.

Nice! Great report. I'm surprised that the Yellowfin are still on those rigs this late in the year. Especially considering how many cold fronts have pushed through.
