We wanted to be "lines in" by the first minor so-lunar feeding period so we left the dock just before 3AM. It worked! Riggers were dropped and and the spread was out.
Had the first hoo on board around 7:30AM. Had a couple of other knock downs putting some mahi mahi meat in the box.
The major period was coming up and we had our first white marlin in the spread. Churned up the place and spit the hook like trying Copenhagen for the first time.
Right after, we had the "hoo of the day" on taking lots of 60lb. with heavy drag out. After a long confrontation of fortitude and and down to the last couple of hundred yards,he was gone, just like he came. No goodbyes, no FU very much for the fight.
Did some donuts around a school of bouncing bfts but they were on a different mission.
Water was all blue until about 20nm out.
