Default 9/22-9/23 spur report

After a minor set back with the coast gaurd, headed to the spur out of the pass around 9:00pm sat. Drifted the spur all night without a single bite. Woke up and put out the spread and started trolling. We immediatley picked up a 10lb dolphin. Trolled for another couple hours with nothing. Started to changing baits around and put a brand new mold craft on the shotgun, to rigged ballyhoo on the riggers and a couple black barts. About 30 min later the mold craft got hit, fed the bait back to him and he swallowed it up. Didnt put on much of a show, but realeased about a 50-60lbs whitey. Trolled all the way to the nipple and edge hoping for a hoo, but not a single bite again all day. Water was blue blue at the spur and still looked really good at the nipple. Beautiful day on the water. Couple small patches of grass here and there with small triple tail. Had the boat cleaned and gased up by 5:30 was home by 6. Pics later

Kinda our fault...Didnt have an updated fire extinguisher and they wanted us to turn around and end our voyage, but we were able to sweet talk our way out with just a warning and headed south.

Good deal, glad it worked out. Also good to hear they were reasonable with you.
