Default 5/23/16 Dolphin report

Not a bad day yesterday considering a pretty novice crew to the bluewater experience. Got the report from Hiltons and Terrafin and decided to head 14 miles east of the nipple and the water was cobalt! Left Destin pass around 4 and got to the spot at 530. Ended up with 13 dolphin, and lost a few. Did see a big blue blowing up near one of the bigger weed mats about 300 yards behind the boat! trolled the area for an hour or so and never saw it again.

Nice! Was it scattered grass or formed up lines and large patches ?

It was a mixture of scattered and formed with a few half acre sized mats out there. Only had consistent bites/ knock downs in a smaller area though. Water temp was 79

Very nice. Thank you for the report. Looks like that area is getting fishy again. Wahoo and Whitties will soon be in the mix. But, you gotta love the Mahi action!!!

It was really fun! First time I done blue water out of this area but I've fished the gulf stream for the last 8 years. The other 3 guys were pretty novice to blue water so they had a great time!
