Since was full moon and bottom fishing normally is pretty slow in the mornings, we decided to head straight to the edge and start trolling until around noon, after 5 hours trolling and nothing we started bottom fishing around 12:30, Mingo bite was on fire, after a couple drops decided to free line a fresh caught red ruby since we had no live bait, and as soonest it hits the water something took off with it, after couple runs we gafed our first Cobia of 2019 (baby Cobia) about hour later my chicken rig broke off and I dropped a ruby on Carolina rig and few seconds later FISH ON, I had to put on low speed to get it off the rocks, I knew it was a grouper, we boated to take hook off And a picture, fish was released safe and healthy, we changed spots few times and we caught groupers on all of them pretty much, ended up catching 5 gags and 1 red grouper (my personal best day for groupers), lots of short triggers and few red snappers were released, around 3:00 we decided to start head back in, beautiful day on nice calm waters.
