Default Offshore 9/30

So we didn't learn our lesson yesterday. Headed out late today to just fudge around, trying to catch something. Headed south-west into some snotty stuff, trolled the corridor without a hit on anything.

Made it to the bridge rubble, dropped the wreck anchor and started getting some hits on the bottom. Endangered trigger fish and a submarine or two. I swear there's a Goliath grouper living there. I'd hook up a mingo or ruby then get instantly owned and rocked. That fish has several Owner 2/0's in his lips. I bet the girl fish think he's cool. My guest caught one real nice mangrove which saved the day. I put a bonita in the box for bait next time.

Saw a storm headed a bit to the north-west (what the hell with an east-to-west storm?) but sitting at anchor seemed to be a better decision than running through it. Probably was but man, what a show. Wind at 40 mph or so, lightning, thunder. Hell the boat spun almost all the way around the anchor at one point. Sporty! Had some 7 ft waves, but the old rode held fast.

After the storm passed, we caught some trash and got rocked a few more times. Headed in with a following sea at 30 knots.

Yes, if you are talking about the SW Rubble there is at least 1 Goliath there. He's a couple hundred pounds worth of fillets.
