Default Offshore 9/29

Was a bit bumpy headed out, but made it to the Edge about 9:00. Hit the AJ hole and got owned several times. Breakoffs every one. There are some monsters out there. Had a couple of mahi under the boat but they wouldn't hit a damned thing.

Back into the edge on the drift, not much happening. One beeliner with a stiff tail wind.

Decided to troll and eat lunch. An hour on the troll, nada. Got a visit from the FWC at 24 miles. Really nice guys, checked our 1 fish and the livewell, life jackets and whatnot. Headed back out.

Stopped at a 20 mile spot, loaded with fish. Caught a couple of baby AJs, a nice snapper, then nothing. They were there but not feeding. I have never had a cigar minnow survive at this spot and it went untouched.

Ran in to the pass at 30 knots, finally slicked down. Ya'll the water was blue and pretty. Flyers everywhere. A bit of grass.

It was about 30 miles for us yesterday south of OB. Clear green in to about 12 i guess. One mahi trolling and a massive spanish. Picked the Mahi up trolling past a yellow bucket. Seas really rough 40' miles out. Caught nothing but red snapper fishing natural bottom. Using wahoo deep diving lures with J hooks and had several big hits but no hook ups. Just teeth marks. Probably kings.

Yep right at 30 miles. Prettiest water I've seen in 18 months.
