We fished with six kids and two adults in the Jr Angler last weekend out of Orange Beach Marina. The water was incredibly flat going out on Saturday the 7th so we ran about 60 miles to some deeper drops. After arriving at the first spot, which we couldn't find, we were on our way to another nearby hole when we saw a bunch of birds and top water bonito busting. When we pulled up to the area there were tons of fish marking on the finder beneath us, but no structure that we could see. We fished there for about an hour and a half and by 9:30am we had a limit of 16 big red snapper, a 9 lb bonito and one shark. We spent the rest of the day on the Gulf trying to fish for other category prizes in the tournament. Our bonito was in 2nd place for a while but we ended up getting bumped by a few other healthy blood fish. All in all, the kids had a great day and we had another successful trip chasing those delicious snapper.
