Default Bonus snapper day

Headed out this morning. After sorting out a generator issue, got going about 7:30. Not too bad headed offshore. Went 25 miles to a solid spot ... and a boat is close. Not on "the spot" but close.

So we fish a couple of tanks, no joy.

Boat moves on so we hit "the spot". First fish was a solid 25-27lb sow. Current was ripping and wind was with the current. Holding on a spot was tough.

Next drift the wife (no pics) hooks up a big fish. We are thinking shark or AJ but turns out to be another nice snapper. About 24 - 25 lbs.

Kind of slow due to the current but the bite was steady. Put enough in the box then the wind showed up about 1:00. Bounced in and cleaned fish, boats, and tackle. Pretty good day but I'm ready for cooler weather.

And some pics

The bigguns hit live pinfish. Others were a mix of cigar minners and squid.
