Default 9-22 African Pompano

Left Destin pass today in the hopes that the seas were as flat as they had been the last couple days. Of course no chance. A bit sporty for my small boat and we headed to the Edge and on our way looking for the weed lines everyone was talking about. Only saw pieces here and there but nothing big enough to hold much. Tried some lures to see if we could find the chicken dolphin but no luck.

At the Edge we got our variety of porgies, mingo and shark. Lost a keeper AJ to a shark and a few more bigger ones on the bottom that I lost before getting them up. I was bouncing a butterfly jig off the bottom. Lost 2 jigs to toothy critters.

Headed east to Fun Ledge, bouncing the same jig and got this nice African Pompano. My first one. Very tasty and loved the firm meat. Excellent table fare. Cooked him a couple ways to get some variety. BBQ shrimp spices and crushed salt and vinegar potato chips.

Got beat up going out and in but it's better than yard work.

Absolutely better than the yard work that I did yesterday and the fish I had at the restaurant last night.
