Default Winter Mingo bite

Have a nephew who loves to fish coming in town Christmas. If seas are calm would like to make a meat run. Got some good late spring mingo holes in about 150’ that dry up in the summer. Never fished them late fall or winter. Will they be god to fish in dec-Jan? Will the snapper be back?

If you don't find a bite in 15 minutes, move on. They're concentrated and schooling over natural bottom.

Yeah, once you find them you can spank them. We use cut bonita for bait. Last time out had our limit in under an hour. Fishing the Edge, 180 ft. About 29 miles South of Pcola pass. Just saw a good show and dropped down.

I look for the "blue fuzz" about 20 feet off the bottom. And usually use a wreck anchor and chum. Didn't need chum this past trip though.
