Default Why is it..

When someone asks a question on this forum about fishing regulations, they generally get I dont know from seventeen different people but let someone post a photo of a fish they caught thats out of season or illegal and there will be almost immediate posts from some authority about breaking the rules. Is this a fishing forum or a scolding forum? Its easy to see why there are not more fishing reports here.

I agree with you look at the post yesterday on the Guy who was jigging for amberjack the first post was they are closed the are not closed to fishing but you can not keep them if all anybody has to say is negative things about somebody's fishing trip they should keep it to themselves

Because some of the regulations change very fast and to be safe you should check them right before you go.

Some of the regulations are in black and white. When something is closed it is closed. The open seasons are the iffy ones. If someone is blatantly breaking the regulations someone will call them on it.

A lot of these regulations suck and are hard to deal with but they are still the law.

I have to disagree with sniper if the season is closed It doesnt mean you can't fish for them it just means u can't keep em if u roll up on a spot and they are biting have fun catching and releasing the law states they are closed for harvesting not catching
.. if the laws were that strict about catching fish that were closed they would have to close all fishing in the gulf of Mexico because 10 times out of 10 you will catch fish that are closedfor harvest weather your trying for them or not look at the red snapper I'm sure everyone has caught these fish fishing for other species
