Default too late for blackfin at the edge?

Ive been trying to get out to the edge since january. Is it too late to chunk for blackfins now, or is it still worth a shot in march?

We caught them on several trips this year.. I have caught them as late as July.. just are not as thick as the Oct-Jan timeframe.. Just find yourself a good bottom spot to anchor over and chum and botom fish at the same time.. Blackfin are always out there.

It's never too late, we lost about a 30# at the boat last July.

waters clean blue green right now. if it were me i'd get out there early and troll small islanders and dink ballyhoo for a few hours then go get some jacks or something. all through october and november of last year we did just that and kept at least one and lost some on each trip. waters around 69-70 hell you might get lucky and pick up a wahoo that way.
