Default Think it will be any good this weekend?

With the neap tide I'm kind of hesitant, but I don't know if I will have any other chances soon. Looks like I will be headed out Saturday from OB for a grouper, AJ, trigger, whatever we can find mixed bag trip. What do you guys think?

I wasn't really worried about the tide but the forecast has changed to 3' seas from 1-2's. but I'm leaving here (Louisiana) in a couple hours anyway. Hopefully they are wrong!!

Weather looks better Sunday. We tried going out this morning, but after the props grabbed air for the second time, I decided to head back. It was uncomfortable in a 36ft CC. Up until last night it was 1-2 ft. seas. Changed to 2-3 ft. late last night. I've had full moon days that were fantastic for Mangrove snapper and full moon days I couldn't buy a fish.

I find this website more accurate than NOAA. 2 footers I will take.

This is a site that i use regularly and I feel is pretty accurate, like every other forecast site these guys have a day every now and then when their best guesstimate is off.

http://biteweather.com/

Saturday looks to be about 2 foot seas and Sunday about 1 foot or pretty much flat. For Saturday and Sunday fishing I'm trying to decide if I should head SW and look for weed lines or head SE where I've seen a lot of bait and hope a weed line collides with the bait.

Better look at the radar. 3 to 4 at least. just my opinion. I went out yesterday in 1 to 2 and it was more like 2 to 3ish to 4. water coffee color on falling tide. Amazed me how fast it went from clear to coffee on the tide change.

SEAS ARE PROVIDED AS A RANGE OF SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHTS...WHICH IS THE AVERAGE HEIGHT OF THE HIGHEST 1/3 OF THE WAVES...ALONG WITH THE OCCASIONAL HEIGHT OF THE AVERAGE HIGHEST 10 PERCENT OF THE WAVES.

This is part of the header on all forecast sites. That's the reason a lot of people will say that the 1-3 foot forecast was wrong and it was 2-4 foot with the occasional higher wave.

Some people will go out and say that NOAA has it all wrong and that it was 2-4 and a few will even say it was 4-6. Both of those groups will be partially right.

Still sticking with my answer to the original question not a good weekend to go. In my 23 footer anyway. Been out in 4 to 6. Not fun!

Just look at the actual buoy data before you go. Doesn't lie.

It's not going to be lake Mexico, but it's not gonna kill you most likely either. Just depends how bad you want to fish.
