Default Taking some 1st timers

I have a buddy coming down for the weekend from Fort Stuart. He has never been off shore and I would love to put him on some fish. Also my wife has decided to go for the first time and we all know if the wife isn't catching anything the day can become pretty bad. I didn't know if anyone had some advise about where to go to show these newbies a good time and convince them to come back for a second trip. Any advise is greatly appreciated I haven't been out this year to check any spots.

I would try the Pass for Sheepies or go off shore and catch a bunch of Red Snapper you can't keep. Makes for a fun day and no fish to clean at the end of the day. Any public reef should be holding Snapper or even Trigs. just go out with some squid and cigar minnows.

I believe we will be going off shore, i guess we will have to fight through the snapper and try to get to some grouper and mingo's. But thanks for the advise.

what kind of boat are you fishing out of? how much experience do you have? hit the tenneco, edge, yellow gravel. hopefully you'll hook into a grouper or two or maybe an AJ. make sure they take some dramamine, I promise you if they get their asses beat for 60 miles and get sick they'll never want to go again

I've got a 26' Century CC with twin 150's, I have already stocked up on every motion sick medicine I can think of for the newbies. I will try to get to the edge for some grouper and AJ's but it really depends on how the crew is taking it. We may end up at hooter's drinking the day away. Thanks for the post.

Drinking the day away at Hooter's is never a bad thing! Wish we still had a Hooter's near the water in Fort Walton Beach or Destin....:letsdrink
