Default Spadefish???

we went to some public numbers last weekend and the spadefish were everywhere they were on the surface and some were even tailing we didnt know what they like since we dont normally target them. anyone every encountered this before and how do you hook them??

The best way to get them is snorkeling with a polespear.

Tiny hook, no sinker and tiny piece of shrimp or squid. Just throw it out among the Spades. When you clean them the meat looks like it's dirty gray in color BUT they are great eating. Good luck

Great eating fish. Like said above, tiny piece of shrimp or if you are lucky enough to find a cannon ball jellyfish (the ones that look like light bulbs) catch a couple of them and use them in chunks. The spades love em and they won't sting you. Just to let you know, spadefish are very strong fighters and you will have a blast with them

Yep jelly balls. You can also tie flies out of little pieces of grocery sacks that are good jelly ball imitators.

Spades tase great, and are a blast to shoot!

Here's from monday before last..a few I shot from the surface on the Russian Freightor.
