Default Snaps

Howdy everyone,

I've mostly been doing inshore fishing since I've started fishing here in Pensacola but recently I've gotten the bug to do a little offshore action. I went out Saturday and tried a few things but mainly it was an exploration trip, checking out some reefs and such. I'm going back out later in the week and plan to actually try to catch some fish. I searched the forum and the Internet and can't find an answer to this. When do you guys use snaps on your rigs? I plan on using some various live bait rigs, a little jigging and of course troll some stretch 25's and spoons. So, long story short, does anyone use snaps on these rigs. I figure that it's okay to use them on the bait rigs but not sure if they would work with trolling lures and jigs. I have always been one to use as little hardware as possible but it would be real nice to use a snap to swith lures and rigs out quickly. So, tell me what you think. Thanks.

We use a snap between our trolling weight and the leader. All of our trolling lures have crimped leaders attached, so it makes changing lures quick and easy. Others may disagree, there are people on here with much more experience than me. Just my two cents.

Ben,

Thanks for the info. That's a good idea, I didn't think of using one on that end. I'm going to give it a shot. See you out there.
