Default shrimping

What kind of license do you need to be able to pull a net behind a boat to catch shrimp? I'd like to buy a net and try to catch some.

In AL you need a recreational shrimping license. Used to cost $16 a year. Not sure about florida.

I have a 16' shrimp net with boards, ready to go for $50 if you need one.

I would like to do the same thing. Just not real sure how to do it with my boat. I know you can buy a small trawler net.
I have a 24 foot center console. Just don't want to mess my boat up.

Curious how you will do it
Or any one else at that.

You can get some outdoor carpet and cut it to fit the back of your boat to protect it from the shrimp net when you haul it in and out. I pull a net from a 19' blazer bay and put the carpet on and off we go shrimping. A shrimp net will bang up some fiberglass real quick with the boards and chains on it.
