Default Scamp

I would like to target some scamp grouper...had a great snaper season. I have never caught any scamp. Can I get some pointers?
Thanks for the help!

Deeper water 220 to 300 ft. For the big guys. There are smaller legal Scamp on all the public and inshore wrecks but I seldom hear of line fishermen catching them.

Use the smallest cigar minnows you can catch for bait.

Small pinfish work too. Small baits seem to work best.

We did good last weekend in 300-350 ft using live pinfish. I prefer to drift out there.

Probably not going to get out to 2-300 ft water. I will try small bait...

Do you think i will have better luck on live bottom or wrecks/rubble.

Thanks
