Default Reel Replacement

Scaling back a bit and replacing my Shimano Talica 16 II with either a Daiwa LD30H or Avet MXJ. Opinions?

Avet all day Joe. Had an MXJ for a while & loved it. But have you checked out the new Release SG reels? A bit more costly but I've heard a lot of good things about them (namely their anti-reverse systems) & they also have a lifetime warranty.

I love my MXJ and MXL, the Release Reels are nice though. I have mine paired with Trevala Rods. Light and sweet for Snapper Grouper, Bull Reds, King and AJs! I love the lightness of them the most.

Joe get the Avet MXJ 2-Speed. I like the narrow reels better than any of the others i have.

I sure hope you're getting the MXJ Raptor and not the "regular" MXJ to even have close to the same amount of drag as the Talica

Don't really need 40 pounds of drag.
