Arrow Popping my cherry this weekend.

I finally have my boat back and im breaking the bonds of inshore fishing. I'll be cruising through the pass in OB sometime this weekend with some friends and some of them have fished offshore before but i have not. I'll be relying on their expertise as i am a virgin to green water. However, i dont want to look like a total noob. So i am tapping the endless resources of the PFF.

I have a Penn battle 400 combo a penn 320gt2 combo and sargus 7000 spinner combo. a gaff, livewell and the determination of a man thats had a broken boat since may.

i have no tackle to speak of and there is no line on my gear.

I'm on a budget but, im not broke. So what's a good gear list to get started with ?

Ive got SEA TOW but im planning on staying with in 20 miles of the pass.

CRACK EGGS OF KNOWLEDGE ALL OVER ME.

Woah , that's a LOT to ask in one post.. Best to go to the nearest tackle shop and ask .. First you need to know what you want to fish for .. Bottom .. reefs.. trolling.. etc.

How big of a boat you got to begin with....Good radio..? It all depends on what species you are wanting to catch......Are you going to troll for Kings,Wahoo, Dolphin...? Or are you wanting to bottom fish for grouper,Trigger,Aj's....? I think I would spool the 320 with 50# mono......The spinning gear 20 to 25...I'm not familiar with either one that you have I'm assume the sargus is a spinner....IMO you can handle most fish with those line #'s.....that will be a start at least.....More when I got time....

Yea sorry, what I'm looking for is versatility. Good all around kit. Spanish, King, trolling stuff. Grouper AJ bottom stuff.

Guess I should just head to j&m or Sams if thats too big a subject for the forum.
