Here in Pensacola we have a guy that sells a great pinfish trap.I don't really know how he makes them but they beat all others hands down.I sweeten the deal by adding a few oily fish in them. But the pinfish have to be around to catch them.I too have left my traps soak for two days to only find nothing in them when checked.I try and set my traps near grass beds that have a sand patch around it.Good luck Gene

I could throw out some squid about anywhere in the bay and have them all over the placw usually, but any deep dock near grass will have something around it, but use something stinky to attract them. Your in freeport too so there's a lot less salt up that way, could be different I guess.

Where are you placing ? Bait and when do you check .
Place them around the dock areas, if the bait runs out they will leave . They can get out of a regular trap . Check them often.

The guy from the forum that makes the traps has a web site at www.catchlivebait.com He has some suggestions on the site also. Face your entrance doors with the current. Menhaden works great as bait for me. I cut each into two or three pieces. 24 hours I usually have dozens of pinfish.
