Default Pensacola Pass

Could somone please tell me if there is a lot of oil out of Pensacola pass? I would like to try to go out from there since perdido is closed but am gettting a lot of conflicting reports. Just don't want to run my outboard through any oil that may create problems. Ifanyone has any firm reports if it is safe to run and fish in the state waters from there would really appreciate it.

thanks

We came thru the Pass yesterday about noon. Saw some oil as we made the turn to the ICW. Small spots at first and then small globs, maybe 6-8" in size. I think they were expecting more with the late incomming tide. Probably 20-25 boats working the oil. Don't know what it looks like today, starting to look like the last days of boating. Maybe somebody working on base can update us.

We came through yesterday about 12:00 and did not see any signs of oil yet.

Talked with oil spill crews this morning at Sherman Cove. They all said they picked up a small amount of oil yesterday (Thurs) Also saw about 4 or 5 personal boats launch to go fishing.
