Default Palomar knot on mono?

I've heard some people use the Paloma's knot on mono line, is this knot effective with mono? Or just braid?

It's good knot for any type line. I use on chicken rigs at the end of dropper loops. It's used on braid cause braid likes to slip.

I use it on mono all the time, especially on larger diameter stuff

Flouro is fine for a palomar too. Great knot.

Go to knot wars. I have there free app on my phone and they test a bunch of knots with braid, floru, and mono.

K thanks do y'all think the Palomar is better than the improved clinch for mono?

Too many variables when tying the improved clinch properly; With different mono diameters (line test), the number of wraps is critical - too few turns and the knot will slip, too many and damage to line can occur when tightening the knot. Palomar is the same no matter the line test.

The Berkley Improved is a better knot (to me) than the improved clinch, but you still have to adjust the # of turns to the line test. For example, 4-5 wraps for 15-20# line, but only 2 for 80#.

Don't forget the rule of "If you don't like it, redo it." And make every knot the best knot of your life - an hour into the fight of your life is no time to worry about your knots. (Of course, if you make it to the hour mark, you probably tied good knots).
