Default new, need advise

hey guy's,
I am making my first trip to the gulf and wanted to ask a few questions. I am used to a little salt water fishing in S.C,. mostly 20 miles out or less. we have a few good reefs in that range that usually hold fish of some variety. For a newbie who just wants to get my line stretched and possibly put something on the table what would be a good game plan leaving from Destin or for that matter Pensacola? I am not even sure of what species I would be best to target. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If out of Pensacola pass,

ck out some public bridge rubble piles 16 miles out listed on fwc site, sorry I don't have the link.

Next good area if you feel comfortable running 28 miles, try the edge, it runs east and west ranging from 160' - 225'.

Do a search here and you will find numbers & info for the edge or look up google earth.

Welcome and good luck!

Fishing Destin Guide

Alot of good info on the site.

You also might want to try pulling stretch 25's. I have caught kings, bonita, and even amberjacks on them. Drag across or around structure and get ready!!

Im new as well to the whole "rod and reel" fishing thing ( I spearfish) and some guys out here told me to troll with the PINK stretch 25" apparently EVERYTHING loves them. I was actually told to buy more than one of them because they will surely get beat up!! Good Luck!
