Default Mingo Question

Could someone clear up for Me what the creel limit is per person for Mingo's in Alabama waters? Thanks

If your lucky enough to catch one in our 3 mile state waters look under vermillion snapper. 10 is limit in state. water.

The link you posted stated on page 5 where its talking about the federal regulations for the GOM(which alabama goes by) its 20. Your allowed 20 reef fish per person if there is not a specific limit for the species like groupers, red snapper and Aj's. With that said you cant keep 20 mingo's and 10 triggers, that would put you over the 20 reef fish limit.

These are older regs from 2007-2008 I believe. The size limits are off.


I've alway's thought the mingo's under the 20 fish aggerate and have kept up to 20 a person as long as I had no other aggerate fish. I have even emailed them at http://www.outdooralabama.com/fishing/saltwater/ to ask and had no response(nice to know they are there to clear things up). Shoot em an email and see if they might answer you.
