I was there not too long ago, plenty of nice jacks if you can make it through the cudas. I would for sure try to fish just off of it if you can still get them to bite. Good luck

We rode out to the jacket Saturday. Fished it with 2 or 3 other boats. Plenty of keeper jacks there. Also caught one massive 40 lb +/-king that got mangled by a barracuda at the boat.

Like mentioned above, set up your drift or hold just to the side of the jacket, we caught jacks as far as 200 feet off the structure, you don't have to bomb on top of it. Also, you can downsize your leader and weight that way, get the bigger ones to bite.

We were dropping two rigs, one buddy inisted on a 6' 125# leader with an 8oz weight, my other buddy was fishing a 15' 60# leader and 4 ounces of lead, the smaller setup out caught 4 to 1, bait was large live pinfish.

Have fun, go early, it's hot!

As far as the smaller lead, that is if the current permits it, sometimes it really rips out there. Still lengthen the leader though.
