Default How many times did you target Red Snapper this year?

Just wondering if you fished more or less this year for Red Snapper than you did during the "normal" season last year?

There is never real a trip when I "target" red snapper it is more like you can't help but catch a red snapper on every spot. I normaly target groupers but can't get through the snaps to get a gag.

We bottom fished a lot but only went "targeting" red snapper about 4 times during the 6-7 weekends of snapper season. All other times we bottom fished we caught snapper as well but not nearly as many. There are a lot of snapper but there are also many ways to get through them.

I never target just Snapper. Only fished four trips this year, Far less than usual.
The complicated regulations and constant checks of out of state boats take a lot of fun out of fishing in Florida. I am a tournament comittee member of the Atlanta Saltwater Sportsmans club and our number of boats fishing tournaments was way down this past year. Some of this had to do with the oil spill, but the confusing and ever changing regulations and seemingly unrealistic limits on size and numbers also played a part. I firmly belive in conservation and species preservation, but I think politics is invading our sport.
