When "targeting" grouper, what leader do yall use? Seems i got cut too much this weekend while using ANDE 50# mono as leader.

Depending on the size of the fish targeted, depth of water and so on I use from 60 to 150 mono leader. Fluoro is too expensive to waste on a Grouper that will hit a bait with wire if he's hungry.

^ this. I usually use 80-100 mono. I save my fluorocarbon for jacks and snaper

If you are going to go crazy and bottom bump the Ozark wire would not be out of the question. Collapsed wrecks and rocks I use 150 lb Power Pro and 200lb mono leader just in case I have to pull one out of the wreck/rocks. It also helps to have a good boat driver on the helm to change the angle of your dangle to pull them out.

80Lb flourowhen I target scamps and 150-200lb when gag fishing I like flouro not for the disappearing act but for the abrasion resistant it gives.
