What are the bag limits on Golden Tile in our Gulf? Is it 4 per person or no limit? Just making sure.

  • Included in the 3-grouper per person bag limit. A limit of one per person within the 3-grouper per person aggregate bag limit.
  • Effective January 31, 2011, the recreational Annual Catch Limit (quota) for golden tilefish is 1,578 fish based on an allocation of 97% commercial and 3% recreational as approved in Amendment 17B. (See Fishery Bulletin Reminder below)
  • Gear restrictions apply.

Fishn4fun is correct ..

page 5 of the Gulf Council Reg shows the species of tiles included as part of the 20 fish reef aggregate
http://www.gulfcouncil.org/Beta/GMFM...%205-31-11.pdf

I believe circle hook 69 is quoting the Atlantic regs, which are much more restricted.

In state waters golden tiles are in the 4 grouper aggregate... but the only places you are realistically going to get tile fish in state waters are SE Florida or the keys

So for fishing in the Central Gulf - beyond state waters - most all tiles are in the 20 reef fish aggregate ..

Wirelessly posted (iPhone)

97% commercial and 3% recreational.

I never see them in the fish market or on the menu. So where they going? We trading them for talapia?
