Default Go to lure for mahi

So we were wrapping up after trolling a tide line saturday and a school of mahi swim by. We didnt have anything rigged up for the opportunity and missed out. Which brought up the discussion....

If you could throw 1 lure at them, what is it? Keep in mind, you will be using a 4000 size reel set up.

GAME ON!! Fishing Team

A pompano jig or soft plastic grub. Brightly colored in just about any hue but pink and chartreuse are usually best

This mostly pertains to chickens on up to larger school dolphin. For big dolphin I like a small ballyhoo rigged on a circle hook to pitch

Chris do you prefer the goofy style or buck style jigs?

We catch a box car load of Dolphin on a small Yozuri Crystal Minnow. F6 floating model. When they quit hitting that we go to sinking gotchas. The bigger Dolphin love poppers, big poppers.
