Default Fort Morgan rigs: Anyone got any tips or recs for a Newbie

This will be my first venture in salt water in my own boat and would like to put the boys on a few fish. (19ft CC with 200 Suzuki) Being a greenhorn, I'm gonna stick to the rigs that I can see from the shore until I figure out what I'm doing so I don't end up in Hondouras :

What is the best bait suggestions and what can a couple of teenage boys expect to catch?

I'm familiar with Dixey Bar but again, being new at this I don't want to get out there and just be in the way of the more experienced anglers.

Thanks guys for any help and look forward to much discussion.

Take some shrimp you may find a school of spade fish. Small hooks 1/0 or so will do. If you drop the shrimp to the bottom you are sure to hook small snapper. Take some cigar minnows and free line them on a 40-50lb wire leader this should produce some kings. Any live bait would be great for this to. You can easily google how to make a wire king rig.
