Default deep dropping?

Every once in awhile I seea post about deep dropping and it is something that I've always wanted to try. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to rig, what to use for bait, and where to go?

Usually around structure/rigs. I enjoy the Butterfly Jig ($$$$$$$) , and have yet to try my cheap homemade "Butterknife Jigs" I tie directly to the solid ring. I havent/don'thave near the experience as others have here.

I use 80-130 test mono to make rigs or you can buy rigs on internet. most of the time i make 4 droper looper rigs. then i put swivals on the ends of loops and then add hooks. you have to have swivals because when your drifting in 250ft or more your bate will spin on the way down. also need 2-5 pound weights. use braided line or you will need more weight. I have 100 and 130 on my poles. I start fishing about 250ft just watch bottom machine and drop on any thing that looks good. with electric reals not hard.baits live dead anything squid work real good.
