Default cobia and motors?

Do cobia really like the sound of motors? I had the chance at three cobia yesterday that came into my chum slick in the morning. Pulled the bait right outta the first ones mouth and the second two wouldn't eat anything. ran outta chum by 1. The day dragged on til around 5 when i was getting ready to leave so i started the motor to get it warmed up. as im reeling in the flat lines a cobia comes up straight to the running motor close enough to kiss it. Heart starts pumping and i try in a panic to grab anything to toss to him. I get a cigar minnow on but I don't see him anymore.I look up and see my flat line that had a whole squid on it bent over so i set the hook hoping its him. A couple drag runs later I see the brown turd and I'm flippin out in my head. I'm alone with nobody to gaff it for me. I'm cussing and praying that he don't get off and on the third swing i hit meat. with one swoop he hit the deck and made my day.

Went last weekend and kept the motors running while anchored and chumming (to keep batteries charged) and must have seen 15, we landed 4 and broke off 2 more.. Motors running may have had something to do with it, dont know.
